Rosenkrantz and Guildenstern
Today I learned (TIL) that in German, "Rosenkrantz " means "rosary." I learned this because I am reading Werner Herzog's memoir Every Man for Himself and God Against All, which has motivated me to watch or rewatch some of his films. Today I saw The Enigma of Kaspar Hauser which is a very weird but interesting film that led me down several rabbit holes (Bruno S.!) in addition to teaching me the meaning of the German word "Rosenkrantz."
As far as I can tell, "Guildenstern" means "Guildenstern" in German as well as English.
You're welcome.
